The Listen Up Project has hired New York based music director, pianist, and conductor Alyssa Kay Thompson to serve as music director for their musical, touring Vermont this August.
Nate Venet, originally announced as music director, will still be involved as music supervisor. Venet will continue to help with scoring the music as well as other behind the scenes duties, but Thompson will spend more time working more directly with the cast as well as conducting the pit band.
Thompson's most recent credit as music director was the national tour of Sara Bareilles' WAITRESS. In 2018, she made her Broadway debut conducting SUMMER: The Donna Summer Musical. Other credits include JERSEY BOYS and ¡HAVANA! on Norwegian Cruise Lines.
Thompson was the first female graduate of Baldwin Wallace Conservatory's Music Direction program, and holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Theatre with emphasis in Conducting, Composition, and Jazz.
The Listen Up Project is happy to have her with us!
